Vintage/Antique Tea Storage Wood Bin Japanese 1940/50s Domestic Tea Storage

Offered for your consideration this vintage Tea storage bin from Japan.
We has seen similar bins used for the shipping of loose leaf tea in larger quantities.
these bins usually have content labels and weights indicated.
This bin looks to have been made and decorated for domestic use, perhaps in a home or small business. It was made in Japan, As indicated by the stamp on the bottom.
It has decorative Paper covering with Chrysanthemum flower accents. The green borders are applied paper as well. The lid is attached with brass hinges, with brass articulated lid arm. The interior is lined with what feels like a heavy tin foil. The lid is secured with a small swing arm clasp.
This bin is a simple, attractive, but functional piece.
This tea bin measures approximately 17 3/8 in. wide, 12 in. front to back, 10 1/4 in. tall.
This Bin weighs approximately 7 pounds.
The construction is very nice. All the sides are put together using sturdy box joints.
Some of the paper covering has worn away at the corners to reveal the construction of this box.
The liner is folded over at the top lip and held in place using small flat head tacks. The inside perimeter of the lid is also lined with this heavy tin foil, creating a gasket, to keep the tea fresh.
Condition- This is and old storage bin, and the paper covering doesn't look to have ever been sealed. there are areas, mostly at the corners, where the paper has been worn away, See Pictures.
But the worn areas add to the character and feel of this piece. The flowers on the top of the box are still very vivid, but the surrounding pattern shows some fading.
