Vintage Mayan Aztec Hand Carved Art Ornamental Chess Set & Backgammon
This Chess & Combination Backgammon Set is an amazing work of art. The board itself is incredibly finely and artistically carved with ornamental designs. This is by far the finest set I have offered for sale to date! The shear number of artist man hours that must have gone into carving and making this set is unbelievable. The listing pictures do not do this set justice as it is much more impressive in person.
The board and game pieces are all completely handmade, carved and handcrafted.
The board is comprised of wood and inlaid carved stone, as a result the set is very solid and heavy.
The board measures a large 14" by 20" and it is over 3" tall.  It folds in half to house and store the game pieces.
The most unique feature of this set is that the chess board opens up and can be reversed/ flipped to play the Backgammon game.
The chess and backgammon game pieces are also made of some from of ceramic type material and measure in ranges approx. 2.5" to 3.5" tall. The backgammon pieces are approx. 1" by 1" and 1/4" thick.
The board and pieces are in excellently well preserved vintage condition.
Shipping for this item will be via UPS or USPS priority mail, due to the weight of the set itself (stone and wood).  It will be packaged very carefully to avoid any damage during transit.
