60’s French Lardy Staunton style chess set. The 3.75 K in this set are very rare size.
This set is carved and turned from beautiful Pallisander Rosewood for the dark pieces and Olive wood for the light ones. The knights feature inset glass (porcelain) eyes sometimes referred to as a German knight. All 32 high quality pieces are weighted and felted with their original green baize. They have retained their original lacquer finish. Because of the exotic woods used to make these sets and the added touch of the glass eyed knights these were the top of the line of sets offered by Lardy at the time and are the rarest in this configuration size.   The set is in excellent condition. No cracks or warped pieces.
Comes with a very nice faux leather case.
