Vintage Gold Burnishing, Dental, Surgical Tools, Letter, Findlay, Ohio OH

Description

I purchased this group of items at an auction as a gold burnishing kit.  The letter of provenance, original tag of previous sale, work board are included.  I don't know which of the tools, if any, are part of the original kit.  Many of the tools are actually dental or surgical tools.  I would say most are not from the 1850s, although some may be.  I do not know.  Some of the tools are labeled Hu Friedy, V. Muellar, Swann-Morgon, Meyrowitz and Edick.  Most of the tools do not have any markings.  The original kit belonged to William Hagel, a craftsman, that was used to burnish the cross on the Episcopal church on East Market Street in Findlay, Ohio. The letter mentions a brush which is not in this group of items.  Included in this group is a hand-made, leather pouch for the tools.
