Vintage figural chess set, made in Italy
Renaissance type with Monarchs as King and Queen
Material used is some sort of celluloid or very early plastic, there are no seams as usually found on plastic pieces
Highlighted with gold gilt
Set comes with storage case original to set incorporated inside chess board/ box
Storage box is 21 1/4" square, 5" high with individual playing squares of 2 3/16"
King stands 3 5/8" with 1 3/8" dia base, pawn is 2 3/8" tall with same base diameter
The whole set is in excellent condition for its age ( I assume it was made sometimes in 60's)
Board box has some very minor scuffs or possible scratches ( if any)
Box rests on 4 raised feet
Very nice set for play or display
