Victorian Turquoise Ten Karat Yellow Gold Pin

Authentic ten karat (tested) yellow gold antique turquoise pin. This Victorian age pin features a gorgeous greenish blue turquoise. This oval shape stone is cut in cabochon and shows brownish matrix. The matrix creates a striking contrast and unique pattern within the turquoise. This stone measures just under one inch in length by 5/8 inch in width and lies within a traditional open back bezel. Framing the base of the bezel is a beautiful hand engraved scroll and floral motif edge. Very typical of the excellent quality and workmanship found in the art nouveau period. The engraved edge, with the lovely contrast in color between the turquoise and gold, really makes the piece. The pin is in original condition and measures one and one-quarter inch by one inch. This pin has been lightly cleaned but not polished. Shows wear commensurate with age but nice estate condition. Weighs a solid 7.1 grams. The pin fastener is snug and tight fitting.  This gorgeous pin would make a wonderful gift or self purchase. Looks great when worn and will definitely get noticed.
