Gorgeous true Victorian hair pin / comb - natural brown translucent material - hand carved and mounted with a bohemian garnet set 'crown' of jewels - the metal is a very tarnished 'garnet gold' often used with the Czech garnet jewelry of this time - approximately 8kt and easily tarnished as it is mostly silver in content - the comb measures 4 inches long and the gem set top - which articulates on a hinge (good original wearable condition) measures 1 3/4" wide - weighs approximately 6.2 grams.
