Description

For sale is a dust cover hinge repair kit.  This money-saving kit is made for the DIYer, and consists of one sturdy ABS plastic clip (the upper portion only) and one replacement hinge pin.
** This is true ABS plastic (not an inferior 3d print which shows the additive lines as the part gets printed by an inkjet nozzle) . This is true injection molded plastic **
Also included is a new  hinge pin to replace the original pin.
How to repair your old dust cover hinge (do it yourself and save):
Remove the spring pressure by unhooking the end of the spring.
Next step is to separate the old broken hinge clip (the plastic part) from the lower portion. The flattened end of the existing hinge pin needs to be removed. This will require grinding or cutting off the end of the old pin so that you can remove it.
Once the end of the existing hinge pin is removed - tap the pin out using a narrow punch and a small hammer being careful that you don't lose the spring as it comes apart (consider putting masking tape on the spring so that it does not fly away when released). Keep the spring, you will need it.
Insert the spring into the spring cavity in proper orientation with the lower portion spring hook. Bring the hinge clip and the lower portion together, aligning them in preparation of inserting the new hinge pin.  Carefully insert the new hinge pin keeping the clip and lower portion in alignment.  Gently tap the hinge pin (it will be snug - just keeping tapping gently) in until you see equal amounts of the pin showing on both ends. The hinge pin is held in place by the spring tension.
Re-hook the spring end under the lower portion spring hook.
This style fits several different makes and models of turntables.  The base portion measures 1" in width, and the gap the dust cover slides into is 0.15" (3.8mm). The top is 1.75" (44.6mm) wide. What's included is what is pictured - true ABS plastic, and an aluminum pin.
