To clean your records, go to your pharmacy and buy a bottle of denatured alcohol (cheap) and use a soft lint-free cloth.  Rub in direction of grooves.
It has come to our attention that a slightly different size cartridge was made for later model CR8005A units.  Some of the earlier CR8005A units did use the NP-1.  They are calling the new size the NP-6 needle.  It is slightly narrower and not interchangable.

Model numbers are provided in manufacturer's references for the cartridge they installed in those models.  If the cartridge has been changed by a dealer or user, this needle will not be correct for the model numbers listed, as it is the cartridge that determines what needle is needed.  Be sure it looks like your old needle.
