    Description

I AM NOT SELLING A KIT
    , only a new, full-size copy of Jim Saftig's
    ZILCH "X"
    PLAN
and a rare copy of his construction article. The
    PLAN
has all the necessary parts patterns on it. The model used a Fox .35 engine.
This 50" wing span model has a
    thicker airfoil
than the Berkeley kit versions of his designs. This was true of Berkeley adaptations of
    all
of Jim Saftig's stunt models. Berkeley thinned the airfoils in order to get more die-crushed wing ribs on 2" wide balsa sheets.
I built the original thick airfoil versions and some of the kit models with thinner airfoils. My belief is that the thicker airfoils fly slower and better, certainly in a loop. This design should fly slower and better than the model kits by Berkeley.
    (The
    ZILCH X-PENDABLE
by Berkeley does not list Saftig's name on the plans. It was a combat model which came out after Saftig's death in a plane crash.) This
    ZILCH X
used a Fox 35 UC engine.
My last 4 pictures are of other ZILCH
    PLANS
    that I sell separately.
