    Description

    Presented is a lovely 18K white gold pin with a micromosaic scene of a Greek or Roman ruins against a beautiful colored sky. The pin is made of a bright blue oval in a solid white gold setting with elaborate Victorian-style decorations. The micromosaic is set into the blue oval. This is a true micromosaic. It is made of tiny, colored tiles or tesserae arranged and affixed to the pin's blue surface. This was made in Italy during the mid 1800s.
    The pin is unmarked. We have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be at least 18 karat gold.
    The overall condition is excellent. The micromosaic is in excellent shape. All the mosaic tiles or tesserae are present. There are a few chips to the edge of the blue oval setting, but these are minor, since your eye is drawn to the mosaic rather than to the setting. The pin back and clasp have been replaced over the years. There are no breaks, no cracks, no dents and no other repairs.
    The face of the pin measures about 1 1/4 inches by 1 inch.
    The weight is 7.1 grams.
