French Art Nouveau BIRD Pin Brooch Antique Victorian Gold Fill Pendant Bel Epoqu

ABOUT:
Interesting and very large antique Art Nouveau swallow / bird brooch - a real show stopper.   Pretty French gold filled piece with nice detail and patina from the Belle Epoque period. It would also be beautiful worn as a pendant as you can see in the photos, I just ran my chain through the pin back and it hangs very nicely.  Although if wearing it always as a pendant, you may consider removing the pin back and having a jeweler add a loop. Chain in photos is not included.
According to Google ; ) - The swallow also represents love, care and affection towards family and friends, showing the loyalty of the person always returning to them. The swallows also represent everlasting love and are associated with loyalty and fidelity.
The French were known for their gold fill fabrication in the late 1800s to early 1900s, they would use an unusually thick layer of gold foil over brass to form the jewelry to withstand long term wear.
Measures almost 4 inches wide by 1 1/2 inch tall.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned with some age to them so they are in estate condition.  A few spots of discoloration but a nice antique patina.  There was a dark spot between the head and right wing that lightened with polishing but the deterioration seems to have caused a bit of loss to the gold fill there under magnification.  Some surface wear. No deep scratches, nicks or bends, it still presents nicely. Statement piece.
But by disclaimer as always due to age is this piece is not in mint condition.
