    Frence Sarraguemines Faience Plate, Oberanai, Alsace Village Scene
    In the center of this vintage French 9 1/8 inch faience plate by Sarreguimes is a half timbered house from the village of Obernai in Alsace, and, in the distance, a church spire. The scalloped triple ridge border of the plate has three garlands of flowers and leafy tendrils in green, brown, and a bit of yellow. The center design is in rich tones of russet, green, gray, and shades of brown against a cream background. The plate is in fine condition with no chips, hairlines, or repairs. Sarreguimes made this plate as part of a dinner service featuring a variety of village scenes from Obernai.
