Description
I AM NOT SELLING A KIT,
only a new, full-size copy of the
PLAN
to build yourself an exact scale
F-51H
UC model.
Jimmie McCroskey's 1954 Nationals winning UC scale
F-51H
was well received as a model magazine plan and it soon became a kit. Here is a new full-size copy of the original
PLAN
& construction article. The ruggedly constructed model has a 30-3/4" span and used a K & B .29 engine. This
PLAN
has ALL the parts patterns which the Jetco kit
PLAN
would not have included. Picture # 5 shows bulkhead patterns.
The rudder and stab are thick sheet balsa. The wing has the scale laminar flow airfoil & there are complete cockpit details on the
PLAN
. Only the wing root and tip ribs are shown on this
PLAN
. It is assumed scratch-builders will know how to make plywood rib patterns & stack balsa between the two & sand away to make the ribs. To jog memories on how to do this, see the Handy Hints sketches in my picture # 7.
I also include a copy of the magazine construction article.
This model later became a Jetco kit which was a highly prefabricated one having shaped balsa blocks for the fuselage. Such a plan would not have been useful to scratch-builders as is this outstanding
PLAN
.
I AM NOT SELLING A KIT,
only a new, full-size copy of McCroskey's original magazine
PLAN
and article.
YOU ARE PURCHASING A NICE, CLEAN, WHITE, FULL-SIZE COPY OF THE ORIGINAL
PLAN
& COPY OF THE ORIGINAL MAGAZINE ARTICLE FOLDED AND IN A MANILA ENVELOPE.
