  • Condition: Missing two pieces, a white pawn and a black bishop. Another piece (a black pawn) looks like it's beginning to split open but it's still one solid piece. The elastic strips that hold the pieces in the drawer are becoming loose and could be replaced.

    TWO PIECES MISSING, A WHITE PAWN AND A BLACK BISHOP.
    Beautiful hand carved Chinese figure chess set. Pieces and board made of wood, with brass detailing on the board.
    The board folds and has drawers which hold the pieces in place. The elastic strips that hold the pieces in place are becoming loose.
    Each side has pawns in several designs.
    The squares on the board have scenes and titles of Chinese folk stories carved into them (Cowherder and Weaver Girl, Princess Shanyin, Tao Yuanming, etc). The board also has dragons and flowers carved into it.
    Some pieces of the box are loosening.
