Beautiful Victorian Rose Cut Bohemian Garnet Floral Pin Brooch.
This beautiful Victorian brooch is in very good pre-owned condition. The brooch features seven larger (4.2mm - 4.5mm) rose cut garnets, five 4.4mm x 3.5mm tear drop shaped rose cut garnets and smaller rose cut round garnets in a circular pattern ranging in graduated sizes from 1mm - 2.8mm.
I acid tested this brooch, when acid testing, there was a gold color to the scratches. I placed 18k acid on the scratches and the gold color disappeared but what was left turned blue indicating sterling silver. There are no stamps or markings on this brooch. I believe it’s either 800 or 925 silver based on my testing results.
The pin on the back of the brooch is in good condition, nice and straight. There is a “C” clasp on the back to hold the pin down. There are no stones missing!
The brooch measures: 1.45” inches tall by 1.13” inches wide. It weighs: 5.19 grams.
