Antique Victorian Jet large hand holding flower brooch

Description

Here is this amazing antique Victorian large handholding flower brooch , it measures 2 1/4 inches across at its widest point and weighs 10.4 g . The substance is either Jet or Vulcanite but it is not Bog Oak and these were the three types of substances used in the mourning jewelry . There is a tiny chip on the back that makes it look like it is Jet but also a little surface crazing that would be consistent with Vulcanite ?. Either way it is a very well-made and beautiful and has survived the test of time quite well, It has a sturdy straight pin and closure and other than noted and very slight wear on the back it is in excellent antique condition. Please notice I have not given it a fine detailed cleaning with a pin in all the little cracks on the front and whether it needs it or not will be up to the new owner .  ...
