    Description

    1987 Latvian Soviet(Russian) Tournament Chess Set W/ Board/Box.
    The listing is for the chess pieces board/ box and both are in mint condition with the typical heavy varnished pieces of this era.  See pictures. Kings measure 5 1/4" in height. The Knights are wood and not plastic like a lot of Soviet sets. The set is lightly weighted.  The wide-base pieces have a good feel and handle well. Piece bottoms are covered in a red color cloth.  The pieces display a nice patina.  A set for tournament,  blitz or home play and a great addition to one's collection.
    The Set will be well wrapped and boxed for shipping.
