An awesome 1843 seated liberty half dollar graded AU 55 by PCGS. It carries excellent details for the grade with very nice surfaces. The obverse has a hue of orange toning around the rims and is very flashy when being tilted in the light. The reverse holds a mixture of darker blue and purple toning. A gorgeous coin that we believe would grade higher according to today's grading standards. This coin has been housed in an Old Green Label PCGS Holder.
This Philadelphia Mint date holds a mintage of 3,844,000. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 1,400 have survived in all grades today. This coin is one of only 63 graded About Uncirculated 55 by PCGS.
